Musée National Picasso - Antibes

Culture

The Picasso Museum in Antibes is housed in the historic Grimaldi Castle overlooking Port Vauban. In 1946, Pablo Picasso set up his studio there, creating numerous works including La Joie de vivre, La Chèvre, and Les Clés d’Antibes. He left 23 paintings and 44 drawings on deposit. Opened in 1966, the museum now holds around 245 of his works, along with pieces by Nicolas de Staël, Hans Hartung, and Germaine Richier. The castle terrace also features sculptures by Joan Miró and Bernard Pagès.
