History & Heritage

In the heart of the French Riviera, La Bastide de Valbonne is far more than a charming hotel. It is a place shaped by time, guided by a unique story and a shared passion.
Around twenty years ago, while the building had long been asleep, Fabrizio and Catherine Ferro saw more than just an abandoned structure. They sensed a soul, a promise, a potential. After a first chapter in the world of gastronomy, they took on the challenge of breathing new life into this forgotten house. A few months of renovation later, La Bastide was reborn—bright, welcoming, and deeply rooted in its region.
Thus began the new story of La Bastide de Valbonne: a family story, and a story of passion.

Designed like a large Provençal home, the architecture and interior design pay tribute to the gentleness of the South: natural materials, soothing colors, generous spaces... Everything has been carefully crafted to make guests feel simply at ease.

La Bastide de Valbonne offers 25 rooms with an elegant yet relaxed style, some with a balcony or terrace, all facing the surrounding greenery. In summer, the outdoor pool invites you to unwind beneath the Riviera sun; in winter, the fireplace brings a warm and comforting atmosphere.
Sports enthusiasts will enjoy hikes in the backcountry, yoga sessions in the garden, or a friendly tennis match on the clay court. Those seeking peace will find it in the shade of the olive trees or with a book by the pool.

Perfectly situated at the crossroads of discovery, La Bastide de Valbonne is the ideal starting point to explore the treasures of the Riviera. Within 30 minutes, iconic cities such as Nice, Cannes, Antibes, and Monaco open their doors. The perched villages offer a different kind of journey: Saint-Paul-de-Vence, Èze, Sainte-Agnès, and Gourdon unveil breathtaking views and a timeless atmosphere.
Culture lovers will be delighted: from the Picasso Museum in Antibes to the Chagall Museum in Nice, from MAMAC to the Jean Cocteau Museum in Menton, including the historic perfumeries of Grasse and the Prince's Palace in Monaco — art and history are everywhere.

To prolong the experience, La Bastide's restaurant, La Trattoria Quattro, offers a refined interlude. Fine and flavorful Italian cuisine, inspired by the seasons and local ingredients, served in an intimate and elegant setting.

Here, we take our time. We savor, we pause, we breathe, we explore, we reconnect.
Welcome to La Bastide de Valbonne, a place to live, and to feel.
